Triathlon Cozumel – THE sports destination in the Caribbean!
With triathlon season well under way athletes travel the world to swim, bike and run.
Cozumel is THE place to be in 2017
Since the event Ironman was brought to Cozumel in the year 2009. I have witnessed a drastic change for the good!
Today you see local athletes training EVERY day all year round. Where in the past the beautiful sports complexes remained almost empty.
I have heard of athletes coming to train on the island EVEN when there was no sports event planned.
People come and train just for the beauty of riding a bike to see the sunsets and the amazing turquoise on the other side of the island.
Triathletes love to swim in our beautiful clear ocean.
My husband started training for Ironman. He had already 2 under his belt with a couple of half Ironman also done, when he inspired me to start swimming.
I would have NEVER thought that this would EVER happen in my live.
I could not even swim 25 meter to the other side of the pool 3 years ago!
Now swimming in the open water has become my passion and I have had some podium successes as well.
Our 7 year old son, Lucas, will be doing his 3rd Iron Kid this year!!!!!!
A few weeks ago we had Oceanman, this coming weekend we have the BEST organized triathlon in the area Mr. Sanchos.
Of course the island hosts the Cozumel ITU Triathlon World Cup and Ironman 70.3 and Ironman 140.6.
I will be participating in the open water swim as a relay in 3 of the coming events.
What I did not expect that I became also a triathlete vacation rental mother.
Over the years many triathletes from all over Mexico and the world ask me to get the BEST properties for them to rent, when they visit with their family to make memories.
Today I am the expert to tell you if your rental is “handy” for your family to watch you Swim/Bike/Run.
How are the logistics on an event day?
Where to eat?
Where to get your bike fixed on a last minute request?
How are the currents in a specific area?
Let me know if you need any accommodation for YOUR event!
I am sure that I have it for you!
And if you see me in the swim, I ALWAYS bring extra goggles!
Live and train in Cozumel? Have a look at Villa Bamboo, located just in the middle of 2 big sports facilities and a 3 minute bike ride to the municipal Pool to train!
